AphA offered to join NHS England’s AI Expert Panel to represent health and care analysts

Last month, NHS England published a workforce plan designed to ensure the health service can meet rising demand and evolving health and care needs. Unlocking the power of artificial intelligence, which could help revolutionise disease prevention, diagnosis and treatment, is key to that vision.

At the Association of Professional Healthcare Analysts (AphA), we support this focus on AI in health and care, and we believe our organisation would play an indispensable role in such a group.

Health and Care Analysts are already working with AI to better understand the needs of the populations we serve, we will be the ones powering this technology to interpret healthcare data like never before.

We can help instil trust in AI tools and showcase their capacity to improve patient care. For this reason, AphA should have a voice on the NHS’s expert panel.

We welcome the opportunity to be involved in the AI Expert Panel so that we can represent the 13,000 analysts who work in the health and care sector at all levels, to that end, we have written an official letter to Amanda Pritchard, NHS England’s Chief Executive.
