The 2021 AphA conference will take place virtually on Thursday 20 – Friday 21 May. The seventh annual event supported this year by main sponsor DataRobot, will include a keynote speech by Ming Tang, Chief Data and Analytics Officer at NHSE, member networking and AphA’s annual analyst awards.
The Association of Professional Healthcare Analysts (AphA) members and non-members are invited to attend this year’s conference that will once again take place online, following the success of last year’s virtual event.
We will be joined by Ming Tang, Chief Data and Analytics Officer at NHSE who will give a keynote speech on the future of healthcare analytics. We will also hear from Dr Sebastian Zeki, Gastroenterologist at St Thomas’ Hospital and Senior Clinical Lecturer at Kings College University and Barts Cancer Institute, who will give a clinical viewpoint of healthcare data and analysis; Clare Griffiths, PHE’s Deputy Head of Population Health Analysis and Head of Profession for Statistics and Pouria Hadjibagheri, Lead Developer at PHE on the UK Covid-19 dashboard; and Shaid Hussain, Data Sharing and Privacy Specialist at NHSX on data sharing for PHM.
As ever, there will be a chance for networking including an early evening virtual drinks meet up, and the opportunity to share skills and knowledge through a members’ show and tell.
The event will also feature a session on professional registration and the presentation of the 2021 AphA Analyst Awards, The Dolphins (so called because it is said that AphA analysts enjoy the same group synergy that dolphins do).
The Dolphins will be given out for the AphA Analyst of the Year and AphA Analytical Team of the Year, and all nominees will receive an AphA New Socks Award pin badge in recognition of the fact that they have ‘worked their socks off’.
